Ready for Quiz #21?
Calling all 21st Century Quiz Participants!
.
Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

500. Right in my territory.
500. The 21st century intro gave it away!
It pays to read that bonus clue, Zack!
I think I’d have a tougher time working Canadian content into these clues!
I don’t think they’ve ever had a Canadian member – surprising for a transatlantic band with a huge roster of members.
I’d be embarassed if I didnt get 500
Allow me to thank your username for my 400 points this week
There would have been something wrong with the clues if you hadn’t earned the full score, Jimmy!
It would be unforgivable not to have 500
Well done, Neil – you are a 21st Century 500 point man!
400 please. The name of the fellow two comments up, who commented on Lebrain’s post today is owed some thanks from me.
Nice work, Harrison – and yes, a useful username to have this week!
Yay. A majestical 500 this week!
Regal work, TVTA!
500.
Well played, Amrita!
Larks Tongues in 500 points!
A Level Five score today, HMO!
I very much loved the 500 clue, and guessed at that point! Apart from my love of Fripp’s work on the Berlin albums, I’ve been getting quite into this band recently!
My thanks, Adela!
Am I remembering correctly that he recorded all his parts for Heroes in a day or so?
What a musician!
I believe you are, Stephen! He is just such an impressive talent!
Only 300 for me.
I’m pleased you got the mid-90s movie/hockey clue, John!
Me too!
500 points please kind Sir.
Exemplary work, Deke!
Keep on Swinging is my motto this year in regards to your quiz’s Teach!
You’re swingin’ for the fences Deke & never striking out – like Joe Carter mixed with Paul Molitor!
I have a friend who would be embarrassed if he didn’t get 500. Likewise, I would be embarrassed if I didn’t recognize his namesake band from the very first question. 500!
I’m pleased it’s a week with no embarrassments, Mike!
I missed the first clue but got it on the second. 400 for me today.
Nice work, JP!
300 here…
A popular score this week, Sarca!
300. I know of them but I don’t know them. “Still plenty of meat on that bone. You put that in a pot, add some broth, a potato. Baby, you got a stew goin’!”
Carl Weathers, what a great acting coach!
I’ll take a 300. And it wasn’t the hockey part that scored it.
I’m pleased you remembered the name of the film, D!
500 for me by a fluke (I know a huuuuuuuuge fan). 300 for Mika, which is what I would have got otherwise.
They say it’s who you know – and you knew the right fan this week, James!
500. I didn’t know Fripp has been the only constant member. Cool.
Nor did I before making the quiz!
