Ready for Quiz #13?
It won’t be wrong!
.
Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

500 soaring points.
Well soared, Neil!
500, been writing about Emmylou Harris this week, who was discovered by one former member and collaborated with another.
And I think I like Emmylou best of all of them!
She’s very consistent.
500. You had me at Rickenbacker…
I find it hard to dislike a song that features a Rickenbacker, JP!
No arguments here
100 please, never even heard of them
On the board, Harrison!
400. I remember them being the most mentioned band in the 1001.
With 5 albums from 1965-1968, the list certainly approves of them – and good memory, Amrita!
Thrye Hundred
Well played, Jimmy!
500
Perfection, Zack!
500 chyrps. The guitarist was also namechecked in the autobiographical lyrics of Creeque Alley by The Mamas & the Papas.
Love the Peter Griffin clue 🙂
Much apprecyated, TVTA!
500 points for Mr Tambourine Man!
Hey Mr. Thunder Bay Man, play a song for me!
Covid Blues would be a good title don’t ya think!
It would be timely!
400 points. The Bob Dylan reference was the key to unlocking the answer for me because I’ve never listened to the band’s albums.
And they might have covered Dylan better than anybody else!
Hey Mr 500 Points! I’m having a jingle jangle morning.
Speaking of artists that get covered often – these guys wrote the playbook on how to cover Robert Zimmerman!
My playbook on covering Robert Zimmerman: Don’t cover Robert Zimmerman.
It’s a pretty concise playbook!
And easy to remember!
300 for me. Not that familiar with them.
They’re at their best when covering Dylan!
500 today. I had it at the Rickenbacker.
I thought you’d do well today, D!
Flying high at 500
8 miles high at that!
Ding ding ding!
400 for Mika, 300 for me, copious swearing from both of us
I’m pleased, despite the profanity, points were still earned & the word ‘copious’ made a cameo!
It’s my turn, turn, turn for 500!
Excellent work, Kevin – and a silver lining of no new baseball? I’ve been enjoying the vintage Jays games, they’re now in the 1992 world series.
They’ve run into a good pitcher in Tom Glavine but I have a feeling they’ll have a strong game 2!
400 please!
Nice work, Sarca!
500 points please.
Well done, Joe!
500!
Excellent work, Adela!
I made the spreadsheet the other day – but I promise the points will be added next week!
Yup, 500.
500 Rickenbackers it is!
I’d be happy with one!
