Ready for Quiz #35?
You gave a promise to me, yeah!
.
Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

400. I misread the first clue as 1982 which threw me.
I’m pleased you got the movie T-shirt clue, Graham!
It was mainly the number of words and starting with the that helped me, actually.
Then I’m pleased the blanks in the quote helped!
200
Nice, Jimmy!
200 please
Good work on the board game clue, Harrison!
Only 200 for me.
Honorary canuck status achieved! 500 points.
Fantastic / Fantastique, HMO!
Beauty eh?
Bien sur!
500. I knew from the lyric before the quiz began. I listen to that song waaaaay too much.
If you’re going to over-listen to a song, it’s a good choice!
200. Sorry Canada!
All is forgiven, Joe!
500 Bachs, please!
500 Johann Sebastians it is, Kevin!
500 bucks will not take me to Saskatoon Geoff! But 500 points here is a-ok!
I had to look it up on google maps – turns out, it’s 32 hours (by car rather than running!) from Kingston to Saskatoon. TBay’s just over 16 hours, a perfect 1/2 way stop!
Drop in Geoff. I’ll barbecue you a good burger! Hell bring the fam!
The Kids would enjoy seeing the live show of Fender the Wonder Dogs jumps!
Bahahaha
It down-poured all day and than at 4 the sun came out! Fender the wonder dog 🐕 loves to jump!
I can keep my Canadian citizenship. 500 for me. Incidentally, Almost Famous is a big fave of mine and yeah, Philip Seymour Hoffman was fantastic in it.
Citizenship successfully kept, JP!
500 — though, the 400 clue has reminded me of how wonderful Almost Famous is, and I consequently feel that it may be time for a long-deserved rewatch!!
I think I’m due for a re-watch too, Adela – fabulous film (and score today as well!)
500 for today’s effort.
Exemplary work, D!
In cricket terminology, that would be a duck for me, Sir. As per tradition, I seem to have scored every possible number on the score board for this quiz!
There should be bonus marks though for teaching me a new term (duck) – I’ll try to fit that in at some point, Amrita!
And I have to thank my childhood fondness for The Mighty Ducks movies for knowing what a puck is!
Isn’t it ironic though (to slightly refer to another Canadian artist whose library tour I watched recently. There were a number of psychology and parenting books.), that I couldn’t guess who today’s artist was…
And Joshua Jackson from that film is another Canadian!
He’s also in a movie named One Week, very sad but very good, and very Canadian too!
Ah, I did like him back in the day, though I never really watched Dawson’s creek. I’ll try to find this movie!
500 each for me and Mika, both former residents of said municipality.
I like how in the demonym (_______-ian), they drop the second ‘o’ from the City name!
Even better: citizens of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan are Moose Javians.
That is delightful – and might even be superior to my previous favourite, the Halegonians of Halifax!
500!
Outstanding, Sarca!
200. Thank goodness for that board game clue.
De rien, TVTA!
300 and it really was a struggle.
The struggle was real – and I’m pleased it still resulted in a good amount of points!
An easy 500 for this Canuck
Nice work, LeBrain!
Thanks LeGeoff!
Haha 500, giveaway clue!
You know your Canadian municipalities!
Some, it’s true! But not all… yet.
