Ready for Quiz #19?
Everybody’s Movin’!
.
Quiz Rules/Format
(feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

Though they’re not helping my 50bookpledge & 1001albums progress, it’s nice to still be watching Penguins games so late in the spring!

500. Your hints are excellent!
Thanks Danica – I enjoy making the questions!
500 for me too, sorry Deke. I agree with Danica, that was a clever clue.
Admittedly, I am a bit shocked this band has a record in the 1001.
As for the Penguins… sorry for your luck tonight. Bobby Ryan in OT! 🙂
My thanks Aaron – and nice work as usual!
As for Les Penguins, after a loss I always think of Jon Bon & friends, Keep the faith!
Usual? Haha I need to not let it go to my head – it could very easily be me not knowing answers at any time!
We watched the game last night, both my Dad and son were cheering for Pittsburgh. Me, I’m for Ottawa. I like underdogs, and they’re playing great hockey. To hold the Pens scoreless for almost three full periods is crazy.
Anderson was something else last night, I was really impressed with him.
And this series is a nice one for me as even if Pittsburgh loses, it would be nice to see Ottawa in the Cup final too. And if Pittsburgh loses, my productivity would increase dramatically!
500 – I didn’t know about the cocktail though.
I knew about the cocktail – but not the haircut until this week!
I made a guess at 500, but I wasn’t sure until 300.
How is that band on this list though. They’re awful.
Their debut made the cut – and if that was your only guess at 500, I’d say that counts as 500 points this week!
500. When thinking of haircuts, I was thinking of The Shaggs. No way are they going to be on this list, unless ironically!
And Flock of Seagulls (the haircut or band) didn’t make the list either – well done Amrita!
Despite haircuts, and ironic (slash guilty) appreciation in pop culture, I think flock of seagulls has done at least two legitimately good songs – Wishing I had a photograph of you and space age love song. Don’t know about albums though.
Was going to ask you a question about today’s band, but I realize it must be kept a secret! I was wondering how it translates in Arabic – the letter and the numerals. Do Arabic numerals “translate” into Arabic?
Wonderful question – I had to spell out the number for it to work properly today!
400 for me. It was on the tip of my tongue at 500 though… I should have just went away and chewed on it for a while longer!
I find that with the quizzes Aphoristical shares – I want to digest the clue longer, but on that site, the timer’s running and there’s no pause button!
500. The official Kid Slender favourite band. I look forward to a top 5 bands whose name ought to be a cocktail. Mine’s a Strawberry Alarm Clock please.
Great idea for a list – nice work!
200 again this week!
Nice consistency J!
Piece of cake. 500. I’m an aviation nut!
There are worse things to be nutty about, nice work Mike!
Thanks sir! (Not a group I’ve really listened to, but certainly one that is a visual experience as well as audio!)
Oh by the way…my #0wordchallenge post will go up tomorrow. See what you think and if you can do it!
Sounds good, I like the sounds of it!
Let’s hear it for the Harvey Wallbangers!
A generous first clue. 500.
Well played Bruce!
500! Nice clue.
Cheers Ovidiu – and nicely done!
400 smack a roo’s!
As Bob Cole would say DeKe, that’s score is a Dandy!
500! 😏
Exemplary work Sarca!
500! I felt like Carnac the Magnificent with that clue!
As you should, well done!
500 and with being a victim of mail pattern baldness I think it is incredibly cruel you chose this band.
My apologies Neil – I shall buy you a drink of the same name in an effort to make amends!
Another 200 here.
Nice work D!
Another 500 for me – although because I have my hair cut into a (BAND NAME) it was easy.
Well played (and well styled) Joe!
500 Points! I’m rockin’ like a lobster right now, no one can stop me!
Guessed right at 500, but it all clicked at 300!
Well guessed Tangerinetrees99!
500, cause I love cocktails
And the cocktail knowledge paid off nicely here!
guessed at 500 for the aircraft, confirmed at 400
Well guessed!
