Artists of the week (so far): Brian Eno, U2, Stevie Wonder, Everything But The Girl, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, CSNY, Bob Marley, Miles Davis, Pavement, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple, Leonard Cohen, Marianne Faithfull, Cream, James Taylor, The Eagles, The B-52s, LL Cool J, The Dictators, Judas Priest, Johnny Cash, Alice Cooper, Bob Dylan, Christina Aguilera, Jane’s Addiction

My thanks to all who have participated in the “Artist of the Week” quizzes so far.

Congrats to all those who correctly identified Jane’s Addiction last week.

I don’t have access to a computer with excel this weekend (again) – so alas, no spreadsheet results update today.

But I solemnly swear to have an updated spreadsheet next weekend!

Until then, ready for Quiz #28?

To quote Keanu in The Matrix, Okie Dokie!

Quiz Rules/Format
(feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)

Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.

Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.

After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.

Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.

I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.

In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.

In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.

Here goes!

Verbalize the Positive

I appreciate that entry to Canada’s National Parks is free this year (to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday), I’ve really enjoyed visiting several of them with my girls!

  1. Bit slow off the mark today, but 400.

  2. 500…too easy this time!

  3. 500 this week Geoff. Back on track…..

  4. I can’t believe I only got 100!

  5. Oh dear. 400 for me this time around. No idea why I managed to miss 500… I can only assume it’s the lack of coffee.

    • I think the scores perhaps ought to be weighted: list score + caffeine consumed before replying, have some sort of +/- to adjust for insufficient-coffee prior to quiz!

  6. 500, got it straight off the bat!

  7. 500, great lounge act. Feeling better about this week

  8. 500. Bass players are soooo 1964

    300. Apparently, I don’t listen to Radiohead lyrics attentively enough.

    • I rarely have much idea what Thom’s saying – but for some reason that lyric was always decipherable!

  11. 300… The “no bass” threw me off.

  12. 500. I am the lizard king.

  13. I suppose I should have been playing all along but 500 – thanks, Kids In The Hall

    • Well played James – and we have much to be grateful for from The Kids in the Hall, when I get to a ‘Dave’ artist, you can likely imagine what song will be referenced!

  14. A fashionably lean 400.

  15. 500 easy.

  16. 300. Darn, I should have gotten it with the 400 pt hint!!

  17. 500 for the week
