Ready for Quiz #15?

Quiz Rules/Format
(feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)

Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.

Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.

After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.

Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.

I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.

In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.

In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.

Here goes!

  1. 400! The top clue wasn’t enough for me, but the next one nailed it. 🙂

  2. 500. Only ever heard one of her 1980’s albums though.

  3. 400! 😊

  4. Down in the stinky 100 zone again! At least I’m being honest…

  6. 0. Don’t know her so I had no shot on this one. Even the initials didn’t help.

  7. zip zero nada….

  8. Firebird 400

  9. 300 this time.

  10. 300 for me. The MF bit is very apt for her track ‘Why Dya Do It’ one of the very best bits of swearing ever recorded.

    • Nice work Joe – and that track will definitely feature in my review, I did not see that coming!

  11. 500!! I thought a lot about it but eventually figured it out without moving to the 2nd clue. I’ve always been fascinated by her story.

    • Well played Ovidiu!
And I know next to nothing about her story so far, so I’m keen to learn more

  12. 400 for me. The second clue confirmed the hypothesis! (Though I’ve always thought the album was 1979!).

    • I can see why you’d think that Bruce…as it turns out it most definitely was released in 1979, I’ve unintentionally started dabbling in alternative facts!!
I’d like to blame my date mis-remembering on ‘the mandela effect’ but I think I just rushed to get the quiz together before leaving for the weekend and didn’t double check the dates. I may end up awarding some “the quizmaster messed up the dates” points to participants from this week, stay tuned!

      • Don’t open the Pandora’s box of compensation, Geoff, or you’ll be drowned in litigation as soon as you can say ‘As Tears Go By’!

      • Haha, well advised Bruce – then my deepest, non-compensation based apologies will have to suffice!

      • More than enough, my dear chap. (As long as your fact checker is soundly flogged).

      • He’s been disciplined accordingly!

  13. John Stephen permalink

    300 on this one.

  14. 300 this week

  15. I forgot to mention that I scored 400 on this one, but if you had described this artist as singer/songwriter/model I might have gotten 500.
