Ready for Quiz #24?

Splendid!

.

Quiz Rules/Format
(feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)

Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.

Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.

After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.

Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.

I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.

In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.

In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.

Here goes!

  1. If clues 2 and 1 were reversed, it might have been a different story, but 500 for me. An original (with, er, insert) of the 300 pt clue is high on most record collector’s list. I have, but without Derek.

    • My list too.

    • I thought this week I’d try to reward music knowledge rather than Wayne’s world knowledge! 😀
I wasn’t planning on covering that album until later this year – but when the 8-track arrived in the mail last week, I simply had to move it up in the rotation!

  2. 500. Don’t own any of his albums, but know his real name.

  3. 500 for Vincent.

  4. A lowly 200 for me this week.

    300. I didn’t remember the cameo in Wayne’s World. It’s been too long since I’ve seen it.

  6. 500 points! Read them out to Sarca Sim. Didn’t need to finish the 2nd clue before She got 400.

    • Of course Sarca Sim got the Wayne’s World reference – 900 points is a solid household score!

  7. 400 today. I was just quoting that particular scene this week.

  8. 500.My kinda music 🙂 Mrs. LeBrain and I listened to his entire Life and Crimes of box set on Friday.

    • Well done Mike – and I’m glad to hear he’s an artist you guys enjoy together, in box set form no less!

      • Alice Cooper was our first concert together too. My mom bought us tickets for Christmas 2005. The show was early 2006, with opening act Helix. So Jen got exposed to two incredible bands that night.

On the weekend (before you even posted your quiz), Jen remembered that there was a little girl in the crowd, and Alice made sure that he paid attention to her, and personally handed her a billion dollar bill from the stage. I thought that was really classy. Meanwhile, he studiously ignored fans that held stuff up to be signed (while on stage; who wants stuff signed why the artist is on stage? I saw it happen!) So Alice ignored the adults who should have known better and just let him do his show. But this girl who had to be five years old, he paid attention to, and she’ll never forget that concert.

    500!

  10. 500 but is he a band or a person, I get confused sometimes.

  11. 500. Mind you it was probably the only clue I could’ve got, what with monkeys never having flown out of my butt.

  12. Ooo an easy 500. Only because I’ve known Mike for years.

  13. Give this Dude 500! Schools (almost) Out eh Geoff!

  14. 400 🙄

  15. 500 points. Saw him last year and he still puts on an amazing show. I’ve never been convinced by his 80s hits, but a of his 70s stuff still stands the test of time.

Just getting started, but put me down for an easy 500.

  17. 400, and yes, I’m suitably embarrassed by that 😉

  18. 400 “We’re not worthy… we’re not worthy!”
