Ready for Quiz #13?

Lucky #13!

.

Quiz Rules/Format
(feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)

Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.

Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.

After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.

Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.

I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.

In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.

In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.

Here goes!

  1. I had it at 500, then I doubted myself and scrolled to the 400 for confirmation.

    400 for me!

    • Your honesty means no performance enhancing supplements testing this week!
But it also means 500 points in my book if these guys were the only answer you had in your head at 500 before scrolling 🙂

      • Well, they were the first guess I had at 500, but then I doubted, so… if the video replay deems that the goal is good, let’s all go back to center ice for the face off!

      • They’ve looked at the goal in Taranna – it’s good, drop the puck!

  2. 500 and as if by some strange coincidence I am playing this band right now.

  3. 500 🙂 I’ve had this conversation… and, heard this song enough that I could probably play it, lol.

    • Well played Danica!
And fortunately, as I’m learning this week, there’s much more to the group than the inescapable hit.
And some of the songs are so intricate that we’d have to hear them many more times before being able to play them 😀

  4. 500! I look forward to a top 5 list of songs which should be banned in guitar shops.

  5. Too easy again! 500 for me.

  6. Only 300! Don’t really know them, apart from the one ubiquitous song.

  7. I’ll will have to go with 400 since I wasn’t positive until that clue.

    • Did you have another guess at 500? As if ___ ____ was your only answer in your mind at that stage (even if not confident) that’s a 500 in my books 🙂

      • I had several in my head as I was going through many British bands and then the 400 clue confirmed quickly for me which one since I do the new release lists and that was the only one in my head releasing anything that week.

      • You definitely do know the new release lists!
Well the honesty is appreciated, 400 points then and a high-five for honesty it is

  8. 500 loud and proud.

    • If somehow the 500 had eluded you with this band Mike, it would have been the fault of the quiz maker!

      • I have emailed you some words 🙂

Great quiz as usual, so far of the series, this is the one that I’m most excited about.

      • My thanks – for both the kind words & the emailed words!

      • Dude I’m so excited for our collusion. I worked really hard on it and I think I have something almost worthy.

      • As am I – collusion is unethical in the business world, but in the blogging world, nothing better!

      • Just an FYI, collusion is also frowned upon at Sausagefest. It is OK if we both vote for the same song — but it’s not OK if I vote for a song I’ve never heard of because you asked me to! One year the theme was “collusion” because it had become so obvious, so Tom put together a tape collage of news clips about collusion. It was brilliant.

      • I had no idea the ‘fest voting got so controversial!

  9. 500 BIG ONES BOSS!

    • Nice work Deke – or should I say, nice work to the new lead singer of the supergroup Dirty Deeds!

      • HAHAHAHA……see Geoff thats what happens when you get home late at night and are delirious….
        In other words…
Booze + Social media+ Late Night= Go To Bed You Ol F”in Buzzard!
        (I’m the Buzzard,by the way!)

      • That math equation would make for a fine opening album track Deke!

      • Well I can’t get to tricky with the math around here so it’s better just to add…in other words ..
        I’m keeping it simple! ha

  10. 500. I had to ban it from my music room when I was teaching.

  11. Zack permalink

    500

  12. 500 to me and I’ve been to Montreux does that double my score?

  13. 500 ! I wonder why I thought of those riffs right away

  14. 500! I think I hang out with too many guitarists (even if I am one)…

  15. Yas! 400 this week!

  16. Proud to add another 500 to my tally. My woman from Tokyo is equally proud. 😛

    • Well done Rich – replace ‘highway’ with ‘quiz’ and the opening track on Made in Japan applies to you!

  17. Jenn permalink

I was clueless this week, and had to get to 200 before I figured it out. Bah.

  18. I got lucky this week. For some odd reason it came easy for me. 500 points
