Ready for Quiz #15?

Do your best & don’t worry! ♪

Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)

Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.

Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.

After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.

Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.

I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.

In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.

In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.

Here goes!

  1. 500. Lucky guess though – mostly cos I inferred from the derailed first question that you were a fan.

  2. 500 for this handsome devil please!

  3. 300 but I got it on 500 then doubted myself

  4. Such a silly boy 500 please.

  5. Great T-Shirt by the way

  6. 500 each for me and Mika. We’re going to see him in a week if he doesn’t cancel first because someone in Saskatoon ate a pork chop or something

    • I fear he’s not the most reliable at keeping his concert date commitments – but you & Mika are quite reliable at earning high scores!

For my 600 challenge (guess the artist before looking at the clues – or a copy of 1001 albums) I was out by two decades, but was in the right country. It know its gonna happen … some day.

  8. 400.
Astounded by how many people got this one at clue 1!

    • wdeod permalink

I guess you just have to know the album title.
It resonates with me although my roots are further back. So no chance of me getting an EU passport if it comes to it.

    • Nice work – and it appears many of our fellow bloggers are experts at birthdays &/or middle names of miserable mononymous artists!

  9. 400 for me and a good guess.

  10. Harrison permalink

Zip, nada, zero and zilch. In that order, please

  11. 300 …Used to read about this chap in Spin magazine not Kerrang haha..
Cool selfie…pondering and in deep thought …

  12. I’ll take 400 for this one.

  13. 500! Got it with the middle name.

  14. Only 300. Today I will sing a half octave down from the rest of the band in shame.

  15. jprobichaud permalink

500 for me. I loved that “comeback” album.

    • As did I – I can’t recall if you’ve done a best of 2004 countdown yet, it would be high on mine!

      • jprobichaud permalink

Nope. Haven’t gotten to 2004 yet. I’m sure it would be high on my list as well

  16. Zack permalink

I had a feeling at 400, but wasn’t sure until 300 so put me down there. Really threw me off mentioning his middle name, I thought he just had the one.

    • It’s sort of like Pele in soccer, some people I wouldn’t know they had other names beyond their famous mononyms!

      • Zack permalink

Is that who got the boys in the famous Tori Amos album? I’m American, I know next to nothing about soccer.

      • And I can’t say I know much about the sport either – being North American, we’re showing our lack of expertise by calling it soccer rather than football!

  17. I’m back in the game! 300 for me please, Geoff!

  18. My disdain achieved 500

  19. I… I know it at 500 but… it leaves me conflicted because this is not my cup of tea… ah well, knowledge is knowledge and I’ll take what I can get in this here race!

  20. 400 and I’m ashamed it isn’t lower!!

    • Haha, sorry I meant to put an anaphylaxis disclaimer at the beginning of the quiz!

      • Don’t worry, I am developing more of an immunity now. My son’s favourite LP is ‘The Queen is Dead’.

      • And I think you said Prefab Sprout was one of the early LPs in his collection too? I blame good parenting!
