Ready for Quiz #39?
You’re gonna go far!
.
Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

400 points……………….The lead singer, Dexter Holland, may have the most instantly identifiable voice in recent memory (see his first few notes/la la las from Self Esteem)…and I recently learned he has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Pretty Fly indeed!

200 please
Good work, Harrison!
500, but not really a fan.
I’m a fan of 500 points, though!
0 and yes that’s the truth…
Good news Neil – your Wayne’s World 1 & 2 viewings will start paying off sooner rather than later!
200. Guitarists with humorous nicknames? I knew it was going to be a tough week.
Not to worry Kid Slender – I anticipate next week will be less tough & I don’t believe the guitar player will have a humourous stage name!
400!
Well played, Sarca!
400… is this band seriously in the list?
That they are, 1994’s Smash!
500 🙂
Excellent work, Jimmy!
500. I just saw these guys live a few months ago.
I gather they still put on a good show!
Definitely!
Eek. Was bouncing in the wrong direction. 200 points finally.
Not to worry TVTA – I’m pleased you ended up back in the right direction!
500. I actually saw this band live for the first time this year and though I had my misgivings, really enjoyed their set.
400 for me.
Nice work. John!
200 for me.
Good work, D!
400, pretty fly for a Welsh guy.
That oughtta boost the Self Esteem!
Send me 500 Noodle bowls Geoff!
Spectacular work Deke!
Can’t keep me separated!
I’ve always thought you were pretty fly for a Thunder Bay Guy!
Hahaha I’ll take it!👍🤘
500! Wore their shirt almost everyday in high school. And, yes I did think of Noodles from UHF too!
Excellent work Kevin – on all of the above, the score, the shirt, and the UHF knowledge!
500 each for me and Mika.
Excellent work, Mika & James!
200.
Good work, Amrita!
