Ready for Quiz #49?
I’m Ready!
.
Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

Verbalize the Positive
The Canadian Government need not apologize – I love this artist unapologetically!
Got my points at the 500 and dime….
500 points are on their way – they’re gonna Run to You!
0, this week…
Not to worry, Adela – I am 100% certain you will have a really strong score next week!
I am highly intrigued! Thank you kindly for the reassurance!
500 please
Nice work, Harrison!
500. My mum liked this artist and I would often quote that south park line
Though I’m a fan of the artist, I’m also a fan of that line – and a fan of 500 scores too!
Yay, good one! 500 points please Stephen.
Cheers TVTA – the questions from this quiz came Straight from the Heart!
500 please. There will never be another
Consider the neighbours woken up, Steve!
That was Reckless
Such musical wordplay cuts deep – like a knife!
500. Best line from that movie.
The soundtrack is so good too, what would Brian Boitano do?!
Everywhere I go those 500 points are gonna rock!
Around the world or around the clock, Everywhere I go – the Deke’s getting 500 points!
500 for me. Saw him in concert this past year for the first time ever. Great show!!
Excellent work – both on the score & for seeing him live, he’s got a solid backing band too!
That guitarist he’s got ain’t no slouch!
500 today.
Fantastic work, D!
500 for me please. ‘for a couple of bucks you can get a weird haircut and waste your life away’. Wisdom, right there.
I enjoyed 1980s musical financial advice – like the haircut here & Billy Joel’s guidance of buying sneakers over speakers!
500. However, I had no idea he was born in Kingston so that initially threw me for a loop. Also, didn’t know the year he was born. So that would’ve made him for the “best days of [his] life”.
Very true – not many people have their best days at age 10!
500. He’s very popular in India. Also, that 300 point clue must have been a lot of work!
Well done, Amrita – and if you ask me, time spent with this artist & excel graphs is time well spent!
You always give the best of yourself, Geoff!
I believe this week’s artist promised we’d always get the best of him too!
That is what I was referring to!
500 each for me and Mika. I believe this is where BA Johnston took the BA in his stage name from.
It’s going to be a photo finish for you two this year, Mika & James!
500 points surprisingly
Well played, Neil!
Easy 5!
500 points Mike, You Want It, You Got It!
400. Took my eye off the ball.
Not to worry Kid Slender – the eye will be back on the ball next week, I’m sure!
500 for me, Geoff. Woop!
Woop indeed, J!
500!
terrific work, Sarca!
500! I like the 300 points clue the best though…
My thanks Kevin – and well played!
