Ready for Quiz #6?

Why wait!

.

Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)

Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.

Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.

After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.

Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.

I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.

In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.

In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.

Here goes!

100 Please, and my heavy metal roots and I are proud of that

  2. 500. Of all the divas, I prefer Ariana Grande.

  3. 200, I love word games.

  4. 400 again – have I dropped off the chart? Chris

    • Nice!
And you’re still there, looking back, it doesn’t look like I got a week #4 score from you (I have you listed as ‘wdeod’)

      • No 4 now done. I was worried I’d get 100 or zero. I didn’t cheat by using the answers on 5 and 6 – mainly because I realised I skim over all your carefully crafted words to get to the quiz! You could add something like ‘by entering this quiz, you are also acknowledging me as your lord and master forevermore’ and I’d probably miss it. Chris (WDEOD)

      • Perhaps I should have put in some really questionable ‘terms and conditions’ in the quiz instructions!

  5. So not my thing. 300 today.

  6. 300, not really my area of expertise

  7. 500. It’s easy when I used to sell these albums.

  8. 300 (can’t believe I missed RHCP last week!)
    Milo

  9. Ha..My sister played this like crazy and of course she got a ton of press as well. upon its release…
500 smooth sounds for this fella!

    • Outstanding work Deke – I thought it might be a tricky week for the blogging community but with you & Mike at 500s so far, I’m pleased to be wrong!

      • Well my sister is 8 years younger than me and since music was/is a big part of my life I would always see and hear for that matter what she was listening too under the same roof as me…
My brother on the other hand who is 10 years younger than me I was able to control his listening habits that were the same as mine until he went into HighSchool…hahaha

  10. 500 for me. Her debut was sensational as it came out when I was working at Sam Goody. I still have the Light Box Poster from that album somewhere stored away. I wonder if it is worth anything.

    • It may be – and even if not, the knowledge of the artist was at least worth 500 points today!

    400. Her vocal range is legendary, don’t know the names of any of her albums though.

  12. 500! ✌

  13. 300.

  14. I don’t want a lot from this points system. Just a glittering 300 please

  15. Zack permalink

400, but I’m OK with that. I would have lost some street cred if I’d scored 500.
Actually, I probably lost some by scoring 400.

    • There are some popular culture references, even if one consiciously tries to avoid them, you can’t help but learning/remembering. And occasionally, like today, it can pay off!

  16. Excellent clues. I guessed right at 500. I just thought who would be annoying enough to not have her correct Birthday out there? Then felt good about my guess at 400 and 300 confirmed it. But it is still 500, right?

  17. 500 each for me and Mika but she guessed it a lot quicker than I did

  18. 500. I don’t care what anyone says, I still really like her first album. 😉

  19. I’ll take 300 please.

  20. 500 again for me, Geoff. I often wonder how good she would be if there was a drop of emotion in her vocals.

  21. 500. Interesting fact about the confusing birthday. I came across a gossip-y video that said this artist doesn’t believe in birthdays and doesn’t define life through aging. I think that’s a great way to live!
