Ready for Quiz #7?
Be Prepared!
.
Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

First! With 500! Because of the chart! Woot!
Woot to all of the above Aaron!
When all hope is gone… I scored 500
I’ll tune in and turn on excel to update the spreadsheet!
I remember when rock was young. Me and spreadsheets had so much fun.
400 Please, good sir
Nice work Harrison!
500. I used to know someone called Phil Standish who liked to introduce himself with the help of one of this artists better known 80s hits…
I’m still Phil?
I might change my name to Phil Standish just to do this. Brilliant
Nikita?
That is amazing!
and so is the 500 score!
400!
Well done tangerinetrees99!
I’m still standing on that 500 list. I’m loving how charts are helping out here. Can I just add this is one for the things I look forward to playing along with every Sunday. It’s the small things that make a day. Thanks man.
Thank you for the kind words Steve, much appreciated.
And with scores like 500, you will be a Man Rocket-ing up the scoreboard!
It’s a routine now, Sunday Morning. Dogs Fed, Kettle boiled mugs of coffee for Mrs ForTheDeaf and myself. Let’s check out the AOTW before the papers.
Just 400 for me.
Well played HMO!
500! Loved the chart clue.
Much appreciated Zack – and nice work!
400 more steps to the Yellow Brick Road!
Man, back in High School (1981-1985) I sucked at graphs and as of today I still suck at trying to figure out Graphs!
Consistent would be the word …hahaha
People strive their whole lives for consistency Deke!
500!
Spectacular work Sarca!
Great first clue!! But 400 for me!!
My thanks John – and well played!
400. Struggled with the graph. Happy to learn a new word (threnody) though.
It was a new-to-me term too!
500! Thankfully my Mom had the radio locked onto a soft rock station for 20 years.
Haha. Thankfully?!
You don’t know how serious I am about this quiz!
And the decades of continuous light hits finally pay off!
Saturday night’s alright for fighting and Sunday morning’s alright for me and Mika scoring 500 points. We’re going to see him in Saskatoon in October.
Lucky!
And well done James & Mika, (captain) fantastic scores!
500 for me. I had to sing your chart a few times to get it though.
I’m delighted the singing led to the correct artist!
400 because no matter what I did even sleeping on it the chart defeated me and I know it is going to be so obvious once I know the answer.
Next time, you will defeat such a chart, Neil!
400. 150 miles out with my first thought.
I’m pleased the second thought ended up being the correct one!
I’ll take 400 this week.
Well played D!
400 this week!
Well done Milo!
Charts help kids learn.
500.
I like to think so too – well done Bruce!
400 for me this week.
Nice work J!
Am I too late to claim a 400?
The later the greater, nice work!
500 but barely. I almost gave up and went on to the 400 point clue. Then it suddenly clicked when I remembered that song!
