Ready for Quiz #19?
This is a Call!
.
Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

300 please
Good work, Harrison!
500. The bonus clue put me on the right track.
It was a good opening track, I hoped it would make for a good (pre-quiz) opening clue!
I know the title but not the song!
400
Nice work, Jimmy!
500 for me thank you. This band I liked, his most famous band, I did not.
I’m pleased that not being a fan of his first band didn’t preclude you from earning a perfect score, John!
Me too!!
500! I love those early albums.
And I’m a big fan of that score, Zack!
300 today.
Well done on the drum clue, D!
500 as I will stick round. I had bought the debut to see just what the hell the drummer was doing singing and playing guitar which was impressive as well as having about 4 singles come off this release.
I think he might have played all the parts except for one rhythm guitar track – I admire that Do-It-Yourself approach!
And speaking of admirable, I’m a fan of perfect scores too, Deke!
Thanks Pal, enjoy your day.
This is a call for my 500 Points please.
Excellent bounce back week, Steve – you’ll learn to fly back to the top of the leaderboard with weeks like this!
500. I wouldn’t call myself a fan but I also don’t hate this band. I actually saw them live many moons ago on one of their first few swings through Toronto and I remember it being one of the first shows where I saw ear plugs being sold at the door.
I have a feeling I’m getting to the age where I’d appreciate such merchandise!
400 points for me please.
Bien fait, TVTA!
Merci beaucoup mon ami!
400 well that’s what I deserve
A well deserved score, Neil!
400 please.
Solid work, Joe!
500 each – the best the best the best – for Mika and me.
Learn to fly up the scoreboard, the Mika & James way!
500! People played their debut and Jagged Little Pill non-stop during my first year of college!
It took a quarter century, but that non-stop soundtrack eventually paid off!
500 points this week, please. I’m not much of a fan of the band, but those first two albums were big favourites.
I’m a big fan of 500 scores, J!
I’ll stick around for a 500!
Sensational work. Sarca!
I’ll take an easy peasy 500, thank you kindly!
To borrow a tune from Now For Plan A, Done and Done!
I, for one, welcome all Tragically Hip references!
400 points for me please! I respect Dave Grohl as a musician and he’s a nice guy, but I don’t get this band at all! They never vibed with me. I only have a soft spot for the drummer because he was featured in the Queen + Adam Lambert documentary.
Not to worry, Lana – you’re having a solid start to May with a 500 & 400 in the first 2 weeks!
Thanks so much Geoff!
400 please
Not too shabby, Paul – to be added along with this week’s score to the spreadsheet!
500. That album is on the 1001?
