Ready for Quiz #26?
Somebody Like You!
.
Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

My wonderful wife & I saw him open for Bryan Adams years ago.
It was one of those terrific openers that didn’t feel like an opener – he put on an excellent show!

500. Forgot he was NZer though.
You can lose your citizenship for that, Graham.
I’m pleased you remembered the name, Graham!
Surprised to get this so easily.
A good surprise, Bruce!
Sadly 100
Still on the board, Neil!
300 points please!!! I’ve watched the later American Idol seasons, so I knew who he was, but I don’t listen to country music much, so that’s why I didn’t get it right away. However, it looks like my American Idol knowledge came in handy (and John Travolta) once again, haha. Thanks for the quiz Geoff!
Thanks, Lana – and well done on the Travolta clue!
Thanks so much Geoff! It helps that my dad loves old films, especially Western films.
100
On the board, Jimmy!
500 for me! Not too many country people from New Zealand/Australia!!
Not too many that I’ve heard, John!
400. I know the name but nothing else. Thank goodness for these Seinfeld clues!
I think the inevitable Seinfeld clue doesn’t arrive until 200 later this week – but Costanza knowledge may come in handy if you don’t know the artist by then!
Yes! Costanza to the rescue! There has never been a character on television that I could relate to better.
300 today. I know the name.
Well known, D!
500 country smackers as my brother in law loves this dude. I will add this cat can strum a pretty decent tele as well.
I agree, Deke – he can play!
500!
Exceptional work, Sarca!
100 please
on the board, Harrison!
Another 400 for me this week. Not my thing,
Those are good weeks though JP, when good scores are earned despite little to no interest in their music!
300 points this week – country not my thing nor TV talent shows.
Nice work on the Richards/Travolta clue, Paul!
500. As far as I know he’s the only Australian country star.
He’s the only one I’m familiar with!
500 for Mika, 400 for me.
Well played, Mika & James!
300 please. Massive improvement on my zero from the week previous 🙂
Well improved, TVTA!
A crisp high-five for me this week Geoff.
You’re in good company this week, Joe!
Richard Midnight? I am not doing well. No points for me Sir. I’ve read the answer and still don’t know who he is.
Not to worry, Steve – I have a feeling this upcoming week might be one of those ‘didn’t even need the entire first clue’ weeks!
500 easy. You included the Preds/Canes. Also, being a guitar geek, I knew of the signatures.
When there’s a chance to include a playoff clue, I can’t resist!
300!
Thanks to Travolta and Richards.
Well done on the Travolta/Richards combo, Holen!
