Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

500.
Well done Amrita!
400.
Nicely done!
Another 500 for me!! Woop!!
Woop indeed J!
A straight 500 for me too.
Solid work Joe!
500, showing my age…
And it paid off today, nice work!
400 for me. Any question involving modern film or TV is likely to lose me.
If I have to go TV/film, I’ll aim for a less modern clue next time HMO!
500. He was good in the film, I thought.
Nice work Bruce – and agreed!
500 for me. He was the only thing I liked in that movie.
He had a nice understated performance!
400 as that first question in regards to films confused me?! ha…
Speaking of which need to ask Mr Cab Driver next time if he’s Gonna Go My Way?
Why? I have no idea…just pondering life!
Well Deke, My mama said congrats on the 400!
Changing gears have u heard Weezer’s spin on Toto’s Rosanna?
Just listening to it now – I’d heard they’d done an Africa version (have since heard that too, catchy!), they’re definitely keeping fans guessing these days!
One way of keeping things fresh thats for sure!
200. I liked Duddy.
I had a feeling you’d get the Canadian content author clue D!
300. I’m glad I didn’t get the Hunger Games clue. Whew.
Well done Zack!
400…never watched or read the Hunger Games.
The 2nd one was quite good!
500 for me, easy to nail that lip-syncing s.o.b.! Hahaha I’ll never forget that, what a disappointment.
I had no memory of a lip sync fiasco – but you never know when such knowledge will translate into 500, nice work!
I wrote it up back in 2014… but the concert was in 1999…
https://keepsmealive.wordpress.com/2014/09/26/lenny-kravitz-black-crowes-pine-knob-1999-05-22/
Well I guessed at 500 but was never sure even at the end, not sure what to claim as points.
As long as that was the guess at 500 (however uncertain), that’s a 500 for me!
400. I need to stop this tying Sarca business!
If you’re going to tie, that’s a good person to be tied with!
This is true!
500 for Mika, 400 for me
Nice work Mika & James!
500. Ahh Cinna, not a nice fate.
Well played Mike – and yes, a sad end, but a good performance by the actor!
When you said actor/musician I couldn’t get Meat Loaf out of my head! Tough one this week. Will settle for 100 points.
Not to worry, Meat Loaf may be an artist before the year is through, he’s got one on the 1001!
500. Sorry. A little late this week. I was Festival-ing in T-dot.
THat’s as valid a reason as I’ve heard – if a student ever said that was the reason for incomplete homework, how could I object!
I would be with you on that one. Festivals enrich the spirit. Live music is good for the soul.
I was on holiday. Am I too late to say 400?
You’re right on time!
200
nice work Jimmy!
