Ready for Quiz #10?
There ain’t no need to go outside!
.
Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

Nup.
I have a feeling next week’s will require minimal effort on your part, Bruce!
I’ll look forward to it Geoff.
“Also the name of a 1971 Miles Davis album” might have been a helpful clue for you?
😂 Exactly!!
Ok the JJ initials rang a bell for me, but I still couldn’t remember his name, so no points for me! I had no idea he was from Hawaii, though, wow! Thanks for the quiz, Geoff!
My pleasure, Lana!
Complete failure here and I love Curious George but have never seen the movie.
Not to worry, Neil – I think there’s a week on the horizon where you won’t even need the entire first clue!
500. My wife has one of his albums.
I’m pleased that was enough to earn the perfect score, Graham!
Nil points
you’re not alone, Jimmy!
I join the chorus of zilches
you’re in good company in that chorus, Harrison!
I’m always in good company here.
400 for me!! I had inkling with the first clue, but that 400 point clue nailed it for me.
I’m pleased you got the anchorman / curious george clue, John!
Nothing today
not to worry, D!
400. I remembered this gentleman’s other career.
Not many have rock star + surf pro on their resumes I suppose!
400. I’ve never listened to him, but know he’s a surfer.
Well known, Zack!
It clicked in at 400 as the girls were about 7 at the time of the Curious George movie which we took them too back than as this artists name was everywhere for a few years back then.
I’m pleased the movie soundtrack clue helped, Deke!
400 this week!
Nice work on the Anchorman clue, Paul!
200. Never heard of him but I do know a handful of Robin Williams movies and a handful of basketball players.
I’m pleased the 200 clue was at the venn diagram overlap of robin williams movies / basketball player handfuls, Kevin!
500 for me, 400 for Mika.
The leaderboard gap is narrowing, James!
I made a wild-ass guess based on a vague recollection of one album title. The only Hawaiian I could think of was Bruno Mars and there’s no way he’s older than me.
200 for me. Shame I couldn’t remember the Anchorman line… love that movie.
400 on this one. A friend and colleague of mine gave me a copy of In Between Dreams a student had given her when she retired. I didn’t quite make the connection tho until Curious George. I didn’t dig the cd…
500. My ultimate anti-road rage music. Love his stuff!
That would be a good prescription for anti-road rage, very calming!
It’s the ultimate. I have all the albums. Of course.
