Ready for Quiz #16?
I won’t show you twice!
.
Quiz Rules/Format
(Same as last year, feel free to skip to the quiz if you know the rules already)
Your Task: Name the mystery Artist, ideally with as few clues as possible.
Correctly guess the artist on the first clue? 500 points.
After scrolling down to the second clue? 400 points.
Still don’t know after the fifth clue? 0 points, but a crisp high-five for participating.
I’ll use google translate to put the correct answer at the bottom in Arabic (if you read Arabic, that’s fantastic, but no cheating by reading ahead!) and you can translate it back to the language of your choice to confirm your answer.
In the comments, please enter your POINTS earned (not the artist name) and I’ll keep track of the running totals in a spreadsheet.
In addition to eternal bragging rights, the winner at the end of the year may even get something as prestigious as a digital certificate.
Here goes!

Artist of the Week #16
Record POINTS Earned (Not Artist Name) in the comments
(scroll down for additional clues)
For:
500 points………………..American band, formed in California. They released their debut album in 2002 (which has gone on to sell 10+ million copies since then).
Not meaning to sound “so condescending, unnecessarily critical” but considering their relative name recognition, The “Other Guys” in this group include Jesse Carmichael, James Valentine, Matt Flynn, PJ Morton, and Sam Farrar.
.
.
.
.
.
400 points……………….Some of their albums include It Won’t Be Soon Before Long (2007), Overexposed (2012), and Jordi (2021).
And at the risk of being the most obscure/niche clue to date, the first part of the band name is the same as the (appropriately-numbered) season one episode of Ren & Stimpy pictured below:

.
.
300 points……………………The aforementioned 2002 debut album, featuring the hits Harder to Breathe / This Love / She Will Be Loved, was named Songs About Jane…
.
.
.
.
.
200 points………………..And the lead singer, Adam Levine, also claimed (through song) to have Moves Like the lead singer of the Rolling Stones
.
.
.
.
.
100 points………………..The artist is M_________ 5

Well 200 is all I could muster
Well mustered, Neil!
300, my wife has that album
I’m pleased having the album in the house helped!
300. My kids were just talking about a ‘Moves Like Jabba’ parody at dinner so I should have figured it out faster….
I haven’t heard that one yet!
They made it up themselves – although Googling it other people have thought of it too.
Great minds thinking alike, I suppose!
I live in Lower Hutt and our neighbour has taken to calling the local vaccination centre “Jabber the Hutt”.
400 for me because I didn’t know the “other guys” only the main guy.
I always like to give ‘the other guys’ a turn in the spotlight – I’ll probably do a similar clue if I get to Matchbox 20!
Hmm…I’ll memorize their names now! LOL!
400…that first question stumped me Geoff….
I’m pleased you got it on the Ren & Stimpy clue, Deke!
A MuchMusic staple 3 decades ago lol
I remember that was the greatest day of much music programming – a Ren & Stimpy-a-thon & Weird Al taking over much with ALTV, what an event!
300 due to some BNL knowledge. Completely stumped until then.
A bit of BNL knowledge tends to come in handy around here, Kevin!
300. Thanks for the BNL tip.
Anytime, JP!
500. Now I want to watch Ren & Stimpy!
I rewatched the Gritty Kitty contest episode after I made that clue, Zack!
300 each for me and Mika.
Nice work on the BNL clue, Mika & James!
400. Pleased I got it at the Commander Höek and Cadet Stimpy clue! Absloute classic cartoon series. I love Chicken! Happy happy joy joy joy! Log! Jerry the Bellybutton Elf (interestingly, music by Masters of Reality for the sequence when Stimpy enters his own belly button!) …
Well done, TVTA – and your score, it’s better than bad, it’s good!
Lol! En plus… it’s great for a snack, it fits on your back!
300 over ‘ere…
Nice work on the BNL clue, Sarca!
300 please
nice work, Harrison!
500 because my daughter is a big fan and I bought her some of the CDs.
Her being a fan paid off, Aaron!
Yup, dodged one here!
