191 albums in 1 year!

December 1, 2020

1001albums

I started the 1001albumsin10years project on December 1st, 2011.

So theoretically, given the domain name, I should have been be up to album 901/1001 by December 1st of this year.

So at 810/1001, close enough for jazz?!

.

As was the case for my firstsecondthirdfourthfifthsixth, and seventh, and eighth year-in-review posts, the annual summary of my favourites from the past year.

Enjoy!

  1. Congratulations, Geoff! Looking forward to the remaining 191

  2. One every two days sounds a bit tough!

  3. After this year goals are for the fishes, go for it though why not?

    • Cheers, Neil – in any other year, agreed, the number seems unattainable. But if there’s ever a year that such ridiculousness could happen, this might be the one!

  4. Well done Geoff. Tenacity personified!
Can you pack a few into December?

    • My thanks, Bruce – I think so. It’s the start of a new blogging fiscal year, I’m feeling energized!

  5. Congratulations and Happy Birthday as well! A double shot Tuesday if there ever was one!

    • They used to have a ‘Two-fer’ Tuesday on the radio here, a birthday and blogiversary combo in this case!

  6. That was impressive to get that many in. I have faith that you can do it! And then keep on going, don’t want to think that next year is the end!!! You then should do the the 1001 worst albums in 10 years at least. And like Deke…Happy Site Birthday!!!

  7. I say just do what you can do and the rest will come along whenever. You have a family, a job, and a birthday to celebrate! Happy happy!

  8. Finishing 191 would mean averaging about 4 reviews a week before Dec 1st, 2021. Tall order! I bet the reason you started this is to expose yourself to new music, so as long as you stick to your goal of going through them all, you are doing just that. If it takes you longer than 10 years, so be it! And, Happy Birthday!

I agree with those above. Don’t rush things to get the whole thing in for the 10 years. Enjoy the last 191 albums. Rock and roll.
