Arkells – The Rally

June 30, 2018

“And I never thought that this would happen”
– Arkells, Never thought that this would happen

I didn’t think it was possible.

But it has finally happened:

I’m emotionally invested in a band that didn’t exist before the year 2000.

I know, right!

My friend Andy & I seem to have started a summer concert tradition (AC/DC in 2015, GNR in 2017); “The Rally” @ Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton was a perfect way to kick off the summer of 2018.

  1. “The Rally towel” reminds me of “Spaceballs: The Flamethrower”!

Looks like it was a great show by I band I would love to see live.

  2. “There’s a dude who knows where his towel is”

  3. Wow packing them in Stadiums! Impressive! Looks like a great night out!

  4. Looks like a great show. Don’t know this band but maybe I should.

  5. I don’t know the band, but Hurrah! for being excited by ‘new music’.

  6. Geoff this looks to have been an amazing show! Great summer tradition, great friends, great music. Man, you’re livin’ it! Arkells are really a great live band, I can only imagine how their sound would fill a bigger space like that. The time we saw them was in the Horseshoe in Toronto, which probably (safely) holds 400 people. No room to let the tunes breathe! I think you’d have gotten the better end of the deal, big airy open rockin’ Arkells-style! RIGHT ON!!

    • It was all of the above Aaron!
We were spoiled with the weather too, there was talk of thunderstorms but it ended up being perfect conditions for rock!
