Does this guy know how to party or what?

June 24, 2017

School’s not yet out, alas, for summer.

So until the pile of marking subsides, it looks like a proper review of Alice Cooper’s School’s Out will have to wait until at least next week.

But in the meantime, a modest celebration of perhaps the greatest cameo in cinematic history.

There are walk-ons.

There are bit parts.

There are special guest stars.

And then there’s Alice Cooper’s unrivalled appearance in Wayne’s World.

If you’re only going to have a couple minutes of screen time in a movie, this is how it’s done!

Verbalize the Positive

Tip of the hat to Mike Myers/Bonnie Turner/Terry Turner for writing such a brilliant & educational scene!

  1. Haha! I’d never noticed how much he sounds like Harry Dean Stanton!

  2. Possibly the greatest rock star cameo of all time. Wayne’s World really introduced Alice to a new generation of fans.

  3. Three socialist mayors, eh? They should send one to Washington.

    • I think Alice would be infinitely more articulate & empathetic than some of the current politicians!

  4. For me Killer and Love It To Death are the better early AC albums than School’s Out but I look forward to reading the review!

    • I’ve heard good things about both – my copy of School’s out was in that wonderful 8-track shipment courtesy of Aaron, so my review won’t be entirely objective I’m afraid, I’ll have trouble separating the album from the surprise acquisition!

      • Fair enough! Don’t get me wrong, I like the album a lot just not as much as the other two. On a scale of only Alice albums it is good. On a scale within all of rock ‘n roll it is great.

      • So true – it’s all relative.
Like an OK Tragically Hip track would be a career peak for another band!

  5. Great performance! He has a night time classic rock radio show here in Arizona, and I always get the impression that not only is he a great guy, but he’s manages to completely disconnect from the stage persona and be as normal as me or you. There’s no ego at all.

    • That’s terrific to hear Geoff – I always admire those musicians who seem to be genuine people off stage.
Especially neat in his case as his stage presence is so theatrical, he still manages to shut it right off and just be a decent dude in person!

    • I think it was on your site that I learned he was an avid golfer too!

  6. Wayne’s World rules.
