Though I do really enjoy some Iggy Pop, I would rather listen to, say, Inspiral Carpets or Iron & Wine or Interpol (just their first two albums though)…

    • I’ve been told Interpol’s a group I’d enjoy, good to know to stick to early Interpol

Yeah. Their last two albums were somewhat lacklustre but one and two were phenomenal. Perhaps their fifth album (coming soon) will be better.

  2. I predict a landslide winner.

  3. Idina Menzel (or known by her stagename, Adele Dazeem), Ike & Tina Turner, Imogen Heap, Iron & Wine and Irving Berlin (not that he recorded a lot of albums personally).

  4. Think my favourite would be Imperial Teen. Closely followed by Iron & Wine or Interpol (first two Interpol albums are indeed great).

    • My brother gave me ‘the shepherd’s dog’ years ago, I have to dig that out & give it another listen

  5. Not a vote for them, but was just listening to first Incubus yesterday. “Don’t you make fun of me, I’m gonna be a hot dancer!!”

    • Just listening to it now – funky!
‘Make Yourself’ is the album that made it onto the 1001 list

  6. Not super familiar with any of them, but voted for Iggy and Stooges because I Wanna Be Your Dog is pretty rad.

    • I was in the same boat – some letters I have a very clear vision of my Top 5. This one I thought, I’m not sure, I’ll let the people decide!

  7. I went with Iron Maiden but The Isleys were a close second. The remainder of my Top 5 “I” artists would include three of the following: INXS, IQ, Chris Isaak, It Bites, Donnie Iris and the short-lived In Tua Nua. Also, Ernie Isley gets a special mention for his amazing 1990 solo album “High Wire.” I believe that’s his only work outside of The Isleys and Isley-Jasper-Isley.

    • Oops, Iggy & The Stooges would also make the final cut, but only if it includes the first two Stooges albums and not just “Raw Power.”

      • Raw Power is listed under ‘Iggy & The Stooges’ and Fun House & The Stooges are listed as “The Stooges.”
Iggy’s The Idiot & Lust for Life also made the list.
I haven’t heard the Isley’s entry yet (3+3) but I love a good math related title!

      • Hear Hear!

  8. I’m a bad boy, I voted twice. I voted for Iggy & The Stooges first. ‘Cos, I mean, it’s IGGY & THE FRICKIN’ STOOGES! But then I went back and gave Iron Maiden a nod too. ‘Cos it’s IRON FRICKIN’ MAIDEN!

  9. Also, I don’t know why I didn’t follow this blog ages ago. Oversiiiiiight corrected as of now.

    • No worries Aaron, As Keith Richards once said, the later the greater!

I trust you’ve seen the Key & Peele sketch with A-A-Ron? I have a student in my accounting class that now answers to that name!
