Red Hot Chili Peppers – Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991)
Will Farrell’s photographic twin, drummer Chad Smith’s performances are much more understated (and woefully underrated).
Breaking the Girl‘s great chords are up there with the rhythm section’s awesome chorus stutter in Suck My Kiss. No campfire is complete without Under The Bridge.
Peak #1/2 in the RCHP catalogue, equaled eight years later when John Frusciante returned for Californication.
I have a love/hate relationship with these guys!!!
Agreed – I sort of go off them whenever California is referenced more than I can handle!
This album was phenomenal…so much so to me that I even have myself talking about it in an old home video from Christmas 1991!
Nice – and in ’91, that would be a proper home video on VHS!
Give it Away is a fun song to sing on Rock Band… that is all!! 🙂
An amazing bunch of musicians, the Chillies…thanks for following me by the way Stephen 🙂
That they are – when there was all the fuss about “were they lip-syncing at the superbowl???” it was all a bit ridiculous. Clearly these guys can play!
If it were ‘mimed’ it would have been a decision by the halftime show organizers and not out of fear that the Chilis couldn’t replicate the song live.
And my pleasure!
